In table databases, there’s a limit to how narrow you can make a property’s column. Sometimes, you would like the column to be even more squeezed than Notion allows.
Lucky for us, there is an exception to this rule: “Checkbox” columns have a much lower minimum width.
“But how does that help me?” you ask. “I want the Tags column to be narrower! Stupid Notion!”
That’s where this neat little workaround comes in: You can change a column to be a Checkbox property, shorten the width, and then change it back to the original property type. Notion will keep the width you set and remember the original settings of whatever property you’re changing back to. That’s simple but awesome!
You can double click the little space between two column titles to automatically re-size a column to fit the width of the longest content of the column. I should probably have done that to the “Tags” property in the sample database as the tags are not fully readable.
